Hair

So Im taking my hair down before school starts. I have been rocking the nubian twists for over a month now, and Im ready for something new. I have been visiting various natural hair websites and have been given tons of ideas for new hairdos. Im definitely rocking my own natural nappy hair for a while lol. I am going to buy me a hair journal, and create me a nice little hair regimen, and get this natural flow a going. So I have been natural since like decemberish january lol. I really cant remember the exact date but needless to say I could be taking better care of my hair, which I am about to start doing. So August is just around the corner and it will be the start of my hair experimentation.

Phase I: Accepted!!!!

So I just received the news that I was accepted into my program. Elated! I am on my way to accomplishing all of my hopes and dreams. So one step down and two years to go lol. Side note: my job is boring but I like it because I genuinely don't do any type of work majority of the day.

Phase I: Fingers Crossed

So I had to get a different professor to do my letter of recommendation since the other one was taking too long. So as of today my grad school application is officially complete. So hopefully within the next two days I get a marvelous acceptance letter. I went to a meet and greet with one of my prospective professors who is over the department, and he informed me they accept 15-22 applicants a year :(. So I just had to email him and ask how many they have already accepted, and he told me around 14. So my fingers are crossed (literally) and I hoped I made it within that limit. Im anxious to hear the status of my application.

Phase I: Pictures

OK, so I will definitely start posting pictures this week lol, I promise.

Phase I: Slow but Steady

Im still waiting to hear back from OCU, but I'm optimistic I meet all the requirements for the program so I'm just waiting. Tomorrow is the dinner for prospective graduates. It starts at 5:30, too bad I dont get off until them, lol. But I'm going to rush over there when I get off, hopefully I will be less than 30 minutes late. I am interested in this dinner and the type of people I will meet. Im not really a social person so we will see how this goes. Work has been coming along slow but steady as is the story of my life, lol. It's pretty boring but its a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere, and I love that. The dress code is basically up to you, so I can be casual or dressy or even relaxed with just a pair of jeans. There is no one hovering over you, so yeah I like it to bad its a temp job lol.
I'm doing this fashion challenge with my mom this week, she has really opened me up to this whole fashionista thing. I have become quite the thrifter as a result. It's fun if I must say so myself, we go thrifting once to three times a week. Lately, I have been walking away as a winner each and every time. I am starting to get out of my comfort zone and embrace patterns, colors, and just clothing that I would have ordinarily ignored or over looked. So life is progressing slowly but surely.
